Valerie Califano is a licensed real estate sales professional; one who is diligent and business-oriented, yet warm, friendly, and compassionate to the needs and desires of clients and customers alike. Regardless of the challenge, she is relentless in her pursuit of the perfect property, commercial space, or dream home.
Valerie began her professional life at the age of thirteen as a hostess at her family’s restaurant. By the age of eighteen, she was overseeing the entire establishment. Her years of experience serving the public, paired with working closely along side other hardworking employees, has given Valerie a strong work ethic and an ease with people that few individuals possess.
While running the restaurant, Valerie decided to explore her love of architecture and went to Parson’s School of Design where she received an Associates Degree in Interior Design and Architecture. From there she developed a love of learning and went on to receive a Bachelors in Science and a Master’s in Secondary Education from Dowling College. She then spent the next 20 years educating middle school students on the wonders of science, and was a 3-time nominee of The Disney Teacher of the Year Award.
Upon retiring from teaching, Valerie decided to revisit her love of architecture and design by getting involved with real estate. She not only works full time for Laffey, but she also manages her husband’s construction company, CTC Construction Inc.
Combined with the same dedication and honesty that made her an outstanding teacher, Valerie possesses the ability to get her clients the best price in a timely manner, and makes the often arduous task of buying and selling real estate seem effortless and enjoyable. She prides herself on being in tune with her clients and strives to develop deep, lifelong relationships. She understands what a huge emotional undertaking it can be to buy or sell one’s home, and will stop at nothing to achieve her client’s complete trust and satisfaction.
Valerie is a devoted wife and stepmom that currently resides in Deer Park. She and her husband are very involved in the community and often take part in local charity events, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking with her husband, traveling, gathering with friends, gardening, photography, and geocaching with the family.
